Vision 2030 started as a consensus of interest by California agriculture educators towards “re-calibrating” and taking a reflective look at the history, progression, and current standing of California’s agricultural education profession within the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA).
During the 2012 Summer CATA Conference at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, the opportunity to share, discuss, identify, exchange ideas, concerns, beliefs, passions, knowledge, experience, etc… in an honest, sincere, and “be heard” atmosphere was a common theme appreciated by all.
After an exhaustive investment of time spent sorting through hundreds of pages of various collaborative feedback, the concerns, interests, needs, and membership driven issues pertaining to the agricultural education profession were identified, organized, and implemented into "action plans" that served the objective of solving problems, addressing issues, increasing efficiency, and maximizing productivity to better serve the profession.
In 2015, another re-calibration was implemented that is currently being identified, organized and prepared for implementation. The "Phase II" components will be combined with "Phase I" (2012-2105) objectives that continue to be addressed.
This website contains the reports and information pertaining to issues, action plans, committees, and the future of agriculture education. it is a project that continues to evolve, grow, and strengthen in a collaborative, membership driven, proactive approach towards strengthening the foundation of agriculture education and the future.
